General Questions
What marking services do you offer?
We provide professional marking services for GCSE English Language and Literature exam papers for all the UK exam boards. You can choose to have a full paper marked or individual questions marked. There is also the option to buy a block of six papers which can be treated as a course, by the end of which the progress from the first to the last paper will be evident.
How long does marking take?
You will receive your marked work and detailed feedback within 48 hours of submitting your exam paper.
Who marks my work?
All work is marked by an experienced teacher and examiner with over 15 years of teaching experience and 14 years as an examiner across multiple exam boards.
Submitting Your Work
How do I submit my exam paper?
After purchasing, you can either upload your work via the product page on our website or email it to admin@markmyenglish.com with your order number in the subject line.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept word processed documents (Word, PDF, etc.) or images of handwritten pages (JPG, PNG, etc.).
What if I have trouble uploading my work?
Email us at admin@markmyenglish.com and we'll help you submit your work.
Marking and Feedback
What will I receive?
You'll receive your marked exam paper with detailed feedback, including marks for each question and clear and actionable examiner comments to help you improve, along with model answers that will show you exactly how to achieve the next level up. If you have any queries about the marks or want further clarification, email support will be available on admin@markmyenglish.com where someone will be on hand to help you.
Which exam boards do you cover?
We mark papers for all major exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC/Eduqas.
Refunds and Policies
What do I do if I disagree with the feedback I have received?
The marks and grade you receive will be an accurate reflection of your performance on the paper you completed. Your paper will have been marked by someone with multiple years of exam marking experience; exam boards simply won't continue to employ an examiner if they find issues with their performance. If you need further clarification on why a specific grade was awarded, you are welcome to email admin@markmyenglish.com for further clarification and support. We will, of course, issue a full refund if you can provide evidence of a major error in the marks or feedback provided. However, we cannot offer refunds based on disagreement with marks or if your actual exam results differ from our practice marks. Please see our full Refund Policy for details.
